Regional law firm, Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., serving clients throughout western New England and New York, as well as nationally and internationally, today announced shareholder Michele J. Feinstein will be a principal speaker on the topic of “Exploring Unsupervised Probate” at Quinnipiac University School of Law in North Haven, Conn. The event, presented by The Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellows and The Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal, will take place on April 20 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Attorney Feinstein will join fellow principal speakers, Prof. Gerry W. Beyer of Texas Tech University School of Law and Prof. Mary F. Radford of Georgia State University College of Law, as well as panelists for discussion on the experience of states that have adopted (in at least some form) unsupervised probate for the settlement of decedents’ estates. Examining the advantages and disadvantages of giving beneficiaries the ability to opt out of court-supervised estate settlement, the program will feature the diverse perspectives of academics, judges and practitioners from both Connecticut and states that have adopted unsupervised probate. Attorneys admitted in Connecticut may claim up to 4.5 CT CLE hours for attending the symposium (4.0 Professional Practice, 0.5 Ethics). There is no charge to attend.
